Two days after returning from the beach Ella had her 2nd birthday. The child needed absolutely nothing, she had no idea what a birthday was and I was wiped out from vacationing and putting things away after the vacation. Her b-day was also the same day as Brittney's first volleyball game of the season and the day before school started. So, I thought we would just have a small family party and that would be the end of it. Her sisters thought that was just awful. They said she would look back at pictures, ask why there were no pics of her second birthday and feel neglected! After that guilt trip we had to do something! So Caroline and I went to town and bought a few small gifts just for the sake of opening presents and a store bought cake(which I rarely do) and some party favors. The plan was to go to the pool for the day bring the cake and whoever was arouns would be part of the party! It was a nice day so there were lots of kids there. Mostly friends of the older girls and kids we know from swim team. We had about 10 kids join us for cake and presents and Ella had a blast. She loves older kids and they were great about playing dress up with her and they even had a tea party. She looked so happy and it was the easiest party I had ever planned. I was really happy the big girls talked me into a party that day.
